Behavioral Medicine

MHNI offers a broad range of behavioral medicine resources, including diagnostic,
treatment, and consultative services. Neuropsychological evaluation and treatment
for cognitively impaired or head-injured patients are also available. Behavioral
services are employed in conjunction with medical services when appropriate and
address the impact that recurring pain
has upon sufferers and their families.
Psychologists participate in the assessment and treatment of disorders such as
depression, anxiety, and stress that often accompany chronic pain and impairment.
A variety of approaches are available, including psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral
therapy, and biofeedback.
