What is a Sleep Evaluation?

A sleep evaluation is a meeting with a board-certified sleep specialist to:

  • Discuss your sleep questions
  • Discuss symptoms of sleepiness
  • Review sleep study results
  • Develop a plan of treatment
  • Discuss therapy options and recommendations
  • Track your progress with therapy

Your sleep evaluation is a very important step toward better sleep. This appointment is generally about an hour in duration and will be conducted at Dr. Weintraub's office at the Michigan Head Pain & Neurological Institute (MHNI)

When you arrive at MHNI you will complete a brief registration before meeting with a nurse who will gather some information about your medical history and record your blood pressure, pulse and other vitals. The doctor will discuss your symptoms, medical history, review sleep study results, discuss a plan of treatment and tell you about treatment options.  Be sure to make a list of anything specific to sleep that you would like to ask or discuss with the doctor. This is the time to have all of your sleep related questions answered.
